With the comedy of the Stooges about the lower qualities of man, it's not surprising that the Stooge-view of FEmaleKind is debase... What is surprising is how viciously Sexy the GoldDiggers, Viragos, Dupetresses and Dominatrixes are that appear throughout the shorts... The Stooge-view is: WOmen are meant to use and abuse, trick and fool, chastise and browbeat men into submission, and while the Stooge may resist or fight back, he will ultimately lose to the Power of WOman... The comedy supposedly is watching the Stooges lose and be dominated... Many men first watched the Stooges as young boys, and may have just laughed at the FEmale Dominance first... Then comes the moment they're not ready for-- when a Powerful Gal slaps or steps on a Stooge and the boy has a boner popping on him... "Hah, hah, that's so funny - hey - what's this?" "Mom told me to have my milk and cookies and watch tv and be quiet and not bother her..." "Guess I can't ask Mom why a WOman hitting a Stooge just gave me a woodie... Better drink some more milk, have another cookie and maybe it will go away..." Then years pass, you're flipping through the TV Guide and you see that episode is on... "Hey, isn't that the one where this Big Amazon sticks Shemp's head in a vise grip?" Boing. "Gee, maybe I better go get some milk and cookies..." |

Since the comedy is so blatant its effect is so stark... These are shorts, there's no time to set up the characters of the WOmen, they come on full-blown as a FEmale Stereotype and start wailing on the overmatched Stooges, be it physical or psychological abuse... Doris Colleen, Connie Cezan, Marilyn Hanold, Greta Thyssen are among the many Powerful Femmes lording over the Stooges, but...

McIntyre is the premier Stooge-Abuser, and a young boy's reaction to her at
first might be: "What a nasty old lady she is..." And as the boy ages and
the Stooges keep showing up on the tube, be it in a marathon or the Family
Channel, and there's C-Mac, remaining the same age, and the boy is older, and her
effect on him is more powerful, until one day he realizes: "God, I'm 40 and
