Lesson over...

A tantalizing aspect of the post-Bondian spy genre was that daily reality had transformed into a constant danger where no one could be trusted, no one was innocent and the ordinary was fraught with Evil WOmen out to do-in do-gooders. Spy shows empowered WOmen beyond the norm ; previously to do harm you had to be big & strong or at least shoot a gun. In Spy World Reality, though, a WOman could be lethal just by employing her cosmetic and fashion accessories (poison rings, bracelets, powders, lipsticks, etc.). What is fascinating about this scene is how common-place it was in the mid-60s. There seemed to be no end to Young, Beautiful WOmen who worked for evil spy organizations and found pleasure in knocking out the heroes of the day...
