Pursuing logic on Gilligan's Island is fruitless, but even if you allow that somehow the Girls could come up with 1965 pop-beat costumes & go-go boots after being stranded in 1964, why would they choose long sleeve pullovers and corduroys for a jungle climate? Obviously the costumes are dictated by the fact this ep was shot in November and fall fashions were en vogue, and in this sense this ep is more of time capsule of FemmeFashions than usual for GI... By 1967, Ginger was truly out of touch with current fashion, as much of what we think of as "60s style" was not popularized when the series began in '64... No other media Femme looked like Ginger in 1966 or 67, as Ginger's dresses, doing a Marilyn Monroe and glamorous, was obviously an antiquated style during much of the show's run...
