But indeed a vision of the Ideal American Wife was offered in the form of Mary Tyler Moore's "Laura Petrie..." Both stylish-graceful / goofy-naive but ultimately knowing in a Feminine way. She touched just about all aspects of Femininity in 6 years, embodying a WOman any man could fall in love with... Prior to the show she had been making a living dancing and showing off her legs, and every now and then the show dipped into that past...

And Laura was presented as a FemmeDom in the dream sequence of "Washington Vs. The Bunny," where Rob confronts that his wife is manipulating him...

By 1961 a WOman in a bunny costume conjured up the Playboy image of a sex object, and dressed as one Laura is shown pulling the strings to Rob's man-doll... The Battle of the Sexes was an undercurrent to quite a few of the episodes, pitting Rob v. Laura...

In 1964 she again appeared as FemmeDom, this time as a better fighter than Rob, able to flip any man in the episode "My Mother Can Beat Up My Father," which begs the obvious question if Ritchie was anyhow psycho-sexually influenced by this fact...
