The Bob Hope Vietnam Xmas Special

Having established a time-honored tradition of entertaining troops by dragging Sexy Femmes out for solider boys to drool over, Old Ski Nose found himself in a peculiar position promoting a war that became less popular as each year passed... It is impossible to watch the base camp shows as the grunts howl for Joey, Raquel, Ann, et al, and not recognize a significant percentage of them faced death or maiming in the near future... This is a flashpoint where the Surreal Strangeness of the 1960s coalesces: teasing-sexuality, military might, impending doom, and social / geo-political upheaval all in the name of sharing Christmas spirit on a family variety show...

The specials were aired in the new year following the Xmas season, so '64 aired in '65, '65 aired in '66, etc...
