| 12-28/29-1966 | "The Sandman Cometh" |
With ratings understandably higher for CatWOman, the producers were trying to get her into every episode...

The
unfortunate result was this forced-fed appearance into the Sandman's show,
where she lacked the continuity or threat of her other appearances,
essentially a CatWOman-lite appearance...

She
still looks ridiculously hot in her costume, though...

And clearly represents a power figure for WOmen...
Overpowering an infiltrator...

And now for those wishing to balance
body-mind-soul...
CatYoga...

Robin wakes up from a stupor the Sandman has put him in...
And he's like: "CatWOman! What are you doing in this episode?"
She quickly points out she still rules him no matter what ep, and orders him into her maze...
Thanks to Starman* for the large vidcaps...

Many
BatFetish Fans wished they had taken the CatWOman and the Sandman and
combined them into The SandWoman... Some speculation on who would have
played her has appeared on discussion boards with the thought of a Beautiful
WOman posing as a doctor going around putting men to sleep tantalizing to
the extreme, given that Batman itself is the genesis for the Sleepy
Fetish... As it is, the Sandman's sleepy gassings of Robin is one of the
more homo-erotic displays of the series...
High C writes: "As the series became stranger and stranger, this storyline, in particular, stood out for its weirdness. And not just for the awkward pairing of Catwoman and Sandman. Again, Catwoman has females working for her. But Catwoman, who almost had achieved goddess status by then thanks to Newmar’s portrayal, treats them more like handmaidens than henchgals. Kitty and Catty proclaim their subservience to Catwoman by kneeling in front of her while she sits on a throne! Not only does CW use them to perform menial tasks, she also has them wearing collars and leashes! Also note the looks of rapture on their faces when they kneel in front of their mistress. While the only overt mind control here is Sandman’s control of Robin (which is even more bizarre), Kitty and Catty almost look as if they are spellbound themselves by Catwoman."
