Karen Steele is supposed to be delivering a bundle of bonds...
She has her escort thinking the two will be an item after the delivery...
Little does he know she's planning to leave him flat and abscond with the bonds...
Even when he catches up with her later...
He can't help but think about making it with her...
A sexist mind-set of late 50s / early 60s tv was that all WOmen want strong men, and that once she finds one, she will give herself over to him... In this ep the KSteele character dismisses her boyfriend as weak, but as soon as he stands up for her, she falls for him, even tho he gets his behind kicked... And then once she decides he is indeed a strong man, her first instinct is to mother him... The Strong Father & The Nurturing Mother are the prevailing role models of this era's shows, and while their place is obvious in comedies such as Leave It To Beaver or Father Knows Best, the dynamic plays a bit incongruous in crime drama... All through the ep KSteele outsmarts the men, so her desire to submit to one just doesn't follow... But the tv moral code of the time not only ensured strong family values, but quick wrap-ups to messy plot lines...
