1969: Future Women
This
goes down as one of the all-time WOmWAm disappointments... Without seeing it and
reading the plot description of "Su Muru, the beautiful leader of the all-female
kingdom of Femina, plans to use her women to take over the world" sets off the
Male Submissive Mind into a near-ecstatic state... Since Shirley Eaton's
first "Su Muru" appearance proved promising, it follows for the naive hopeful
this version would far exceed and fulfill the promise... But all the movie does
is point to the excesses & aimlessness of late 60s film-making, and worse,
predict the terrible low-budget Female Dominance flicks of the 70s to come... It
seems so simple: just get a strong beautiful lead, a bunch of gorgeous
background girls, and have them beat, torture, abuse and lord over overwhelmed
men... Keep the camera steady, make sure film's in it, the lights are turned on
and it should be a masterpiece... But as this Survey attests to, the Art of
Female Dominance is no easy production without a big budget... Other than a
gas-masking scene early on and occasionally Ms. Eaton (seemingly pieced from 3
different movies), this film offers little more than disorientation...
