1964: Goldfinger

HONOR BLACKMAN

The one & only, "Pussy Galore..."

About to utter FemmeDom's greatest introduction...

"I'm Pussy Galore..."

Awaiting her Flying Circus...

Letting FatFinger know he does nothing for her...

"I'm only in it for the money..."

One of the odder notes about Pussy's casting is that Honor Blackman was 37 years old, 3 years older than Sean Connery at the time of filming... "Bond Babe" usually connotes young & sexy, but here Pussy is more like a "Bond Mom" and Honor Blackman's inherent demeanor leans towards the matriarchal... Pussy Galore is the Perverse Venus Fetish Icon with her largesse, her breasts so inviting, and a name suggesting a vagina the size of an ocean to dive in... While alluring, drawing men to her, she rejects all, preferring the Lesbian company of her Flying Circus... Pussy represents Bond's greatest sexual conquest, defrosting the Ice Maiden who would rather beat up a man than make love to him... As she does capitulate, Pussy has an ironic place in FemmeDom: She excited the imagination of the male sexual psyche which would lead to even stronger/sexier Femmetasms, but she herself, while a trendsetter, does not attain the on-screen Dominance she projects... She certainly touches on and influences the Dominatrix-HenchGirl-Matriarch-SpyFemme archetypes, but  does not achieve a clear definition of any single one...

The Mystery of
Pussy Galore's Flying Circus...

While it's generally agreed there's 5 beautiful female pilots in the Flying Circus, there's a bit of discontinuity in both the film and the promo shots as to who the 5 actually are...

When the 5 planes land, we see this Glamazon Pilot first...

But when all the pilots appear next in front of Pussy, the above Blonde is not one of them...

In some promo shots, there are 5 pilots, and again the 1st Blonde is missing...

These above 5 are the one's who do the gassing of Fort Knox, but in other promo shots there's a short brunette...

And again the Big Blonde from the first screen shot is nowhere to be found...

"This is Champagne Leader..."

"Ready for 'Rock-a-Bye Baby'..."

The Female Pilots release knock-out gas on the army men below...

"The baby is asleep..."

Pussy Galore's Flying Circus is a watershed  moment in FemmeDom, touching off innate fantasies embedded in the male sexual psyche... The male mind boggles at the thought that somewhere out there there may be a Gang of Beautiful WOmen who have joined together in black tights, white belts and boots and go around felling men with Knock-Out Gas under the direction of a Female Authority Figure... Moving towards 1965 and beyond, there will be endless variations on the theme of Female Gangs / Organized Secret FemmeSocieties in the surreal realm of SpyWorld that depict FemmePower in the form of Anonymous Glamazons who first overwhelm men psychologically with their physical beauty, then overwhelm them physically with devious devices to either kill or render the male unconscious... This first foray is rather tame, as the WOmen do not actually confront the men face-to-face, but the attitude & intent are monumental with the WOmen posturing as Perverse Nurturing Mothers who fly above the men, not offering the security of their breast milk, but a streaming noxious gas that will put all the baby boys to sleep... Ultimately, rather than in the James Bond ersatz-SpyWorld, both the costuming and the gassing FEMMEnomena will receive their fullest expressions in the fantasy tv show Batman...

Nadja Regin makes her 2nd Bond appearance...

Mai Ling had appeared the year before in the spyspoof Call Me Bwana...

Her butt was ogled in that one as well...

Margaret Nolan in the thankless bimbo-role "Dink..."

Oh, and wasn't Shirley Eaton in this movie?

.

A promo that has nothing to do with her appearance...

(But yet says everything as to what the movie's all about...)

The "Jill Masterson" role is even more thankless than Dink's... It's somewhat peculiar an actress would become famous for being painted-to-death, but that facts tips off the collective mind-set of 1960s - kinky was cool, and painting someone's body completely gold is pretty kinky...

In terms of fetishes, this touches on coprophilia, which WOmWAm does not cover (WOmWAm deals only in family-friendly fetishes)... In strict Freudian terms, money is equal to feces, and the desire for money is the infantile desire to play with your own poo-poo... Gold being the ultimately expression of money, covering the human body in it is the equivalent to what is known in psycho-perv circles as a "brown shower..."
