1954: The French Line

JANE RUSSELL

Features one of the most obscene costumes of 1950s musicals-- it's as about as naked as a woman can be while still having material on her...

It's not really the behind or breasts (Mondo Jane's usual strong points) that make the impression -- it's her  thighs.  There's not a stitch of material from the thighs to the loins,  and what's covering her womanhood is stretched tighter than any bikini bottom...

A woman with six guns strapped on... It's like she has manhood wrapped about her, owning it...

Tho the costuming is astonishing,  what's more surprising is how weak Mondo Jane's character is... Despite having the ability to pop the cork of any man, when not on stage she plays shy & demure, pining for a man to love her, which plays ridiculous, considering most of the men watching the movie immediately went home & jerked off after watching her shake about on the large screen barely clothed... What's also odd is that Jane's cohort, Mary McCarty, is totally butch and unattractive and yet gets onstage with her in the same 6-gun strapped around-the-waist get-up... Just when you're ready to go off on Mondo, Butch Brute jumps in...
