Adele Jergens establishes herself as a force to be reckoned with, picking up dupe Gabe, popping him with kisses, having him retrieve money for her from the bank he works at. He's fool-blind head-over-heels for her and doesn't have a clue to the con she's pulling on him until he shows up asking for the money back and she refers him to the thugs she works for. There's the killer-telling moment when he realizes she's set him up and a blackmail is in place to frame him in case he goes to the cops. He agitates and takes a punch in the gut. While on on his knees, bent over on floor, she sits above him, dominant on chair-arm, crossing legs, lording over him. Later on she's dispatched with 3 other Party Girls to sucker the Boys, teasing them as they plan to slip mickeys and knock them out. The Femme Fatale is an essential character to Film Noir, and the Gangster's Moll is the Premier Bad Girl of the late 40s / early 50s, inherently immoral, willing to use her sexuality to acquire ill-gotten gains... Comedies quickly assumed the world of Noir and took on these BadFemmes, who while usually at the service of a master criminal, were invariably Dominant over the comedic leads...
