1968: Eve
Celeste Yarnall as The Gorgeous Jungle Amazon...
Oh, just another day in the life of a Blonde Glamazon in the Amazon Jungle...
Saving the white man by whipping a native...
Then tossing the uga-booga about...
And then ready to knife the bad boy...
("Do
you know what I do to ugly natives that attack my man? I stick them in the
belly!
['heh-heh-heh' Tommy Udo style]...")
Re:
the issue: is this movie worth hunting down? Like all exploitation movies, the
promotions are better than the deliverable. If you're gaga over CY, yes then of
course, bid/buy it, but if your ultimate goal is a revelatory fetishistic
experience, then be informed this is a Harry Alan Towers production, which means
the potential is only hinted at, never realized (see
Million Eyes of Su Maru)...
But Celeste Yarnall... wow! If your idea of a good time is watching her write
out a grocery shopping list, then you won't mind her in a loin-cloth... An
alternate title of this is Face of Eve,
and while CY has a most-enchanting visage, it's the Body of Eve that will blow
your gasket... There's also a curious dance in the movie, and while there's no
real good caps from it, the idea of it is fantastic: WOmen in showgirl costumes
dance around wearing monkey masks. It's a little marvelous combo of
marrying the sophisticated with the animalistic... A definite dell' arte de
WOmWAm...
